Welcome to Wilmark. We are a small hobby kennel that focuses on producing a versatile Labrador that can do it all. We are located on 35 acres in Amherst, Maine, which is 25 miles east of Bangor.
Wilmark Labradors are bred for temperament, type, and trainability. Our labs compete in Conformation, Obedience, and Hunt Tests. We are members of the Labrador Retriever Club, Inc, Labrador Retriever Club of Greater Boston, Labrador Retriever Club of the Pioneer Valley, and the Penobscot Valley Kennel Club. I have recently been elected to the Board of Directors for the Labrador Retriever Club, Inc.

At Wilmark, soundness is of the utmost importance. All of the dogs in our current breeding program have OFA hip and elbow clearances, ACVO eye clearances yearly, and Echo Doppler heart clearances. We complete genetic testing for PRA, EIC, CNM, HNPK, and Copper Toxicosis. We also test for Coat Color, Coat Length, and the Dilute Gene which should not be found in purebred Labradors.

When we breed a litter of puppies, it is with the sole intention of keeping puppies for our next generation. The litters are carefully planned and they are raised in our home. Once we have chosen our puppies, the rest of the litter will be available to companion pet homes at eight weeks of age. These puppies are sold on AKC limited registrations with spay/neuter contracts. They have been examined by a veterinarian, received their first set of shots, and are wormed at four, six, and eight weeks. We occasionally have young adults available. These are puppies that we have kept from a previous litter. If you are interested in obtaining a puppy or young adult from Wilmark, please email or call us for more information.

Our labs are our family and I hope that you will enjoy your visit with them on our website. Thanks for stopping by at Wilmark!
